Introduction

Palo Alto Networks has developed Intelligent Traffic Offload (ITO) in collaboration with NVIDIA to enable enterprises to adopt 5G technology without compromising security, utilizing ML and AI technologies for autonomous incident responses.

New Support for NVIDIA BlueField-3 DPUs

In addition to NVIDIA BlueField-2 DPUs, Palo Alto Networks now offers support for NVIDIA BlueField-3 DPUs for the ITO solution, accelerating the VM-Series Virtual Next-Generation Firewall's throughput and reducing infrastructure costs.

Expanded Deployment Modes with Layer-3 Routing Capabilities

With ITO, enterprises can now deploy the VM-Series firewall in Layer 3 mode, allowing for static or dynamic routing configurations to 5G layer 3 routers or UPFs while ensuring end-user devices are protected from exposure to the Internet.

Network Address Translation (NAT)-based Offloads

ITO introduces NAT support for IPv4, enabling source NAT with dynamic IP address and port translation, destination NAT port translation, and forwarding in both vWire and Layer 3 deployment modes to enhance security and traffic offloading capabilities.

ITO Now on NVIDIA BlueField-3

The integration of ITO with NVIDIA BlueField-3 DPUs enhances performance and efficiency for enterprises looking to leverage 5G technology while maintaining robust security measures.

Enhanced Options: L3 Support

By offering Layer 3 support, ITO allows for dynamic routing configurations and NAT-based offloads to protect end-user identities and offload traffic seamlessly within the enterprise network infrastructure.
