Public Preview release highlights
The Azure MCP Server supports Azure services like Cosmos DB, Azure Storage, Azure Monitor, and Azure App Configuration, as well as Azure tools like Azure CLI and Azure Developer CLI.
Use the Azure MCP Server
The Azure MCP Server can be used by any agent supporting MCP, including GitHub Copilot Agent Mode and custom MCP clients.
GitHub Copilot Agent Mode
GitHub Copilot Agent Mode with MCP support in VS Code offers a streamlined Azure development experience when used in conjunction with the Azure MCP Server.
Custom MCP clients/Agents
Agents can leverage the Azure MCP Server by adopting the MCP client pattern. Various tutorials are available to adapt for use with the Azure MCP Server.
Future Expectations
More agent samples, documentation, Microsoft product integrations, and Azure service integrations are planned for the future.
